ESPN STAR Sports, Asia's definitive Sports broadcaster (185m households), engaged cleverTV to provide multi-platform, multi-sport loyalty promotions for their millions of avid sports fans.

The activation promotions had 3 clear objectives:

  • Know Your Audience - create and analyse the entrant database with whom they had no previous direct billing relationship.
  • Create unique locally produced TV content to satisfy their broadcaster remit.
  • Drive cost effective viewer loyalty to ESS as the TV rights acquisition battle intensified across South Asia.

Using TV prompts viewers were directed online to register for fantasy football, F1 and cricket games. The cricket games, dubbed "Super Selector", were an overnight sensation and immediately became the world's largest fantasy cricket game.

Content produced via the online game (winners, scores, leaderboards etc) was used to create original TV programming on a weekly basis.
