31st May 2008. cleverTV signs letter of intent with Digitalents Capital

cleverTV and Digitalents Capital have signed a binding letter of intent while completing the definitive terms of a joint venture to launch a business-to-consumer (B2C) fantasy sports proposition worldwide.

Digitalents Capital provides capital and business development to help talented entrepreneurs to expand worldwide in the digital space. Digitalents Capital benefits from an International network built over 10 years in the US, 5 years in Europe and 2 years in Asia. Its founding partners, Jean-Christophe Chopin (founder of E*Trade Europe, BornforSports) and Pierre Sapin (ex Goldman Sachs), have a long standing working relationship and are close to the ground of operations.

Andrew Deeks, Managing Director at cleverTV said:

"The international aspect of our business is growing rapidly for a number of reasons including increased internet penetration, the gradual relaxation of gaming laws and an increasing awareness on the part of media partners that fantasy sports can drive very significant traffic and revenue numbers. By entering into a JV with Digitalents Capital we are able to be more strategic in our worldwide expansion as well as significantly enhance our business development and corporate finance function".

Pierre Sapin, Partner at Digitalents Capital said;

"Online gaming is one of the most scalable and profitable business models in this industry. After one year of screening, we decided that cleverTV has the best product, the most experienced team and a solid platform already used by large media groups to enter into the challenging B2C market. We have a business development methodology that helped us launch BornforSports (a sportstyle Market Space founded by Mr Chopin), into 4 European countries, China and soon the US in only 18 months without hurting the P&L. We will do the same with cleverTV".

As a result of this expansion, cleverTV are actively seeking to expand their team and currently have an immediate vacancy for a Senior Business Development Manager. For fuller details of the role and available package please contact Andrew Deeks.
